users registering on or after 1 December 2011, as from
the date of registration. For users who registered prior
to 1 December 2011, the fees policy shall apply as from
1 January 2012..

Fees Policy
If you are a Service Buyer you can post a job for free
on the website at http://www.Tradesmen.ie/getquote.asp.
Jobs posted by phone or sms message may incur a fee.
Registration Fees
For service providers jobs are called 'Leads'. If you
are a service provider who wishes to buy Leads, you must
pay a registration fee of €53.72 + VAT plus a certain
value of Leads in advance. We offer you the Leads by sms
message and email which match the criteria that you have
entered in your profile.
Fees for Leads
If you wish to buy the Lead you can send a text message
with the ID number of the Lead, a colon (:) and the price
that you wish to pay for the lead. The Lead will be sold
to the highest 4 bids that we receive within 15mins of
sending the lead summary by sms or within 15 mins of the
lead being advertised on our website under the 'Recent
Leads' page of your account. If you are one of the 4 highest
bidders to reply within 15mins, the Lead will be sent
to you and the Lead price deducted from your balance.
If you are not happy with a Lead please let us know within
24 hours. We also provide a facility for your customers
to provide feedback on your work. We add this feedback
to your profile and it helps customers when deciding who
to choose. There is a small fee applied when a job has
been completed and feedback recorded, we call it the Success
Fee. At our discretion we may apply a discount to the
purchase of leads based on a number of criteria which
include but is not limited to (1) the amount of positive
feedback you have received on the website; (2) the value
of the jobs for which you have received positive feedback;
(3) your proximity in relation to the job.
You decide how much you wish to pay for a lead by texting
the lead ID number followed by a colon (:) followed by
the price you wish to pay for the lead. For example if
you wish to pay €1.50 for lead ID 12345, then you text
12345:1.50 . How do you decide how much to bid on the
lead? Each service provider will have a different method
for working out how much they wish to bid based on the
approximate value of the job, the location of the job,
what percentage of leads you can convert into a sale and
what your advertising budget is as a percentage of turnover.
For example let's say you normally spend 10% of your turnover
on advertising and you can convert 5% of leads into a
sale. If a lead is offered to you for a job worth €500,
you could multiply your advertising percentage of 10%
by your lead conversion percentage of 5% which gives you
a percentage of 0.5%. Then you can multiply the approximate
value of the job by this figure of 0.5% which leaves €2.50.
This means based on these figures you could bid €2.50
for that lead. If everything else remains the same and
your conversion rate doubles to 10% you could bid €5 for
this lead. We may at our discretion impose a minimum bid
for certain leads to ensure the quality of the bids. These
figures are used for illustration purposes only, you are
the only person who can judge what you wish to bid for
a lead.
Lead Processing Fees
The lead price includes a processing fee of €1 + VAT.
If the lead price is less than €1 then the processing
fee will be equal to the lead price. The processing fee
is non-refundable in the case that the lead is refunded
for any reason.
Text Message Fees
There is a fee per text message for lead summaries that
are received by text message. This fee per text message
only applies for categories or counties for which the
service provider has requested to receive lead summaries
and assuming you have requested to receive lead summaries
by text message. Text message fees are applied to your
account at the end of each week if the total fees have
reached €2 + VAT. If the total for text message fees
has not reached €2 + VAT in that week it will roll
on to the next week and so on. You can opt out of receiving
lead summaries by text message by logging into your account
and clicking on the link that says 'Edit Profile' and
on this page you can untick where it says 'I would like
to receive priority notification of leads by Text Message'.
If you opt out of receiving text messages at any time
the balance of fees due for text messages will be charged
to your account at the end of that week. There is no fee for receiving
leads by email and there is no fee for receiving text
messages which are not lead summaries. The fees that we
charge you per text message for lead summaries vary for
different networks as some networks cost more to send
text messages to than others. Text message fees are outlined
below:-
O2 network: 9.5cent + VAT per lead summary
Vodafone, Meteor, Three, Imagine, Tesco Mobile: 7cent
+ VAT per lead summary
Payment Processing Fees
On payments received there will be a minimum fee of €3
or 3% of the value of the payment (whichever is greater).
For example if you want to deposit €20 into your account
it will cost €3 so €23 will be deducted from your card
or will be payable by cheque. If you wish to make a payment
of €150 the fee will be €150 x 3% = €4.50 so €154.50 will
be deducted from your card or will be payable by cheque.
Success Fees
If the job is carried out by the service provider and
rated by the the customer a small success fee is applied.
The success fee will be applied as follows:-
0-500 euro = 1.00%
501 euro - 2000 euro = 1.00%
2001 euro - 10,000 euro = 0.50%
10,001 euro - 100,000 euro = 0.10%
over 100,000 euro = Max €100

examples only. The Lead price is used for illustration
only and will vary depending on competition among service
providers.
Example 1:
Job Name: Leaking tap.
Job description: I need a plumber to fix a leaking tap:
Lead Price: €3
Value of job completed: €80
Success fee: €0.80 (€80 x 1.00%)
Total fee to the tradesman: €4.60 (€3.80 +
vat @21%)
Example 2:
Job Name: Painting
Job Description: paint reception area and two rooms, have
paint already
Lead Price: €8
Value of job completed: €600
Success fee: €6 (600 x 1.00%)
Total fee to the tradesman: €16.94 (€14 + vat
@21%)
Note: Stated tradesmen.ie fees exclude VAT@21% and this
is calculated at the Irish rate of VAT.
