The exterior pipe leads back to both the expansion tank (Varem 'Extravarem LC') and the temp/pressure relief valve (Reliance Water Controls 'TPR 15'). I think one of those could be faulty.

The only way I can reliably stop the flow is to shut of the mains supply completely, leaving me without any water at all... So it's kind of urgent, but not 'immediate property damage' urgent. I'd really appreciate some help.">

Repair water heater Lanesborough Roscommon

Repair water heater Lanesborough Roscommon is job number 335653 posted at Tradesmen.ie. To post your own job or to view similar jobs go to Plumbers Roscommon

Description:

My water heater is venting all water through a pipe leading to the outside of my apartment when I try to heat water (either electrically or via the central heating). I think it flows more as the system pressure increases, flowing pretty freely from 0.8bar.

Water heater model is "Vaillant Vantage 120", and is attached to a Vaillant gas boiler.

I'd really appreciate some help.
