The aim of our service is to help service providers to find good quality genuine customers. We also want to help customers to get a number of quotes from good quality reliable service providers and to hire the service provider who they feel can provide a good quality service for a price that is fair and reasonable for both parties. In our quest to achieve these aims we added this code of conduct for service providers. It was last updated on 30 August 2024. We hope this code of conduct will give customers more confidence in the ability of service providers registered on our website and that in return service providers will get more work from the jobs they quote. Therefore, if you are a service provider registered on our website you must agree to abide by the following code of conduct in order to use our service:-

1. At all times to conduct your business in an honest and fair manner.

2. Not to attend or enter a client's home or premises without permission.

3. To produce photo Id such as a drivers license or passport when you first meet the customer.

4. To provide all quotes and terms and conditions in writing, and to be agreed by the client in writing before the work proceeds.

5. To ensure that any changes to the scope of work specified by the client are confirmed in writing and agreed to by the client before such work begins.

6. To follow all legal and health and safety regulations related to your work.

7. To only carry out work that you are qualified and able to do.

8. To be responsible for checking that your employees or subcontractors are qualified and able(or licensed where applicable) to do the work they are given.

9. To arrive on time for appointments, or ring ahead if you are delayed.

10. To be in uniform.

11. To not wear muddy boots in the customer's home or premises.

12. To not smoke cigarettes on the customer's property.

13. To cover or remove fixtures, furniture, carpets, curtains or anything that could be damaged, soiled or stained with tools, equipment, dust, chemicals, paint or anything else.

14. To leave worksites clean and remove all debris, rubbish, packaging and potentially hazardous objects (e.g. nails).

15. To be courteous, respectful and friendly.

16. Not to use any inappropriate language with any customer such as profane or vulgar language or language of a sexual nature of connotation.

17. Not to engage in threatening or aggressive behaviour.

18. To ensure the client/customer knows how the work is progressing, what the next steps will be, and if there will be any delays (i.e. good communication).

19. To bring a good attitude to your work, to do it well, and have a happy client/customer at the end.

20. To carry out and complete work promptly and diligently in a good and workman like manner, to the highest industry standard.

21. To provide an aftercare service and provide a clear set of terms and conditions governing such aftercare services.

22. To take clear 'before and after' photos of the work area and provide them to the client, ensuring transparency and a record of work quality.

23. To comply with your responsibilities in relation to the retention and storage of personal customer data under the GDPR regulations, to use measures to protect the confidentiality and security of customer data while in your posession and to know under what circumstances personal data should be removed from your possession together with any additional requirements under applicable law.

Tradesmen.ie may monitor service provider's accounts, reviews and performances to ensure that only the highest calibre of tradesmen use our service. Tradesmen.ie reserve the right to remove service providers from our service who don't comply with the standards and principles above

Tradesmen.ie may in its sole discretion have one or more of a service provider's jobs assessed by an independent expert to verify that the work is carried out to an acceptable standard.

Tradesmen.ie reserves the right to verify any references or reviews that has been posted on a service provider's profile and to remove any references or reviews that cannot be verified.
