1. How does it work?
Tradesmen.ie is a free online service for customers looking
for a tradesman helping them get up to 4 quotes for their job.
The customer fills in a form online describing the work that
they want carried out and the type of tradesman they are looking
for. We then send text messages and/or emails to all of the
tradesmen who have expressed an interest in work in that area.
The top 4 bidders for the lead who respond within 15 minutes
are sent the customer contact details and get a chance to quote
for the job.

2. What do I need to do to start buying leads? How to complete the registration process?
Leads are bought using Credits which are purchased in advance. In order to get started you need to do the following:- 1. Pay the registration fee,
2. Submit at least 5 references from previous customers, 3. Verify your postal address.
4. Make a self declaration that you have public liability insurance and that you are
legally entitled to provide the services that you advertise.
We may also request a copy of your photo Id, proof of your insurance, qualifications or
other documentation at the initial registration stage or at a later stage.
To pay the registration, just log into your account and click the button that says,
'Pay Registration Fee' and from there, you will be guided through the rest of the process.

3. How much does it cost?
By signing up with your details in the "Register as a tradesman"
section of the website you will receive job notices for free,
this will aid you in seeing how many job leads for your trade
and region are available.
The basic costs are the initial registration
fee and Credits which are purchased in advance.
A Minimum bid price is set which is roughly based on the value
of the job and can cost from 1 Credit upwards depending on
the value of the job. For example a lead for a small job worth
€50 might have a minimum bid price of 1 Credit but
a lead for a large job worth €100,000 might have a minimum
bid price of 25 Credits or more. These prices are displayed
above for illustration only. They are not fixed and will fluctuate
up or down depending on supply and demand. To view more information on these and other

4. How can I pay the registration fee?
To pay the registration fee you can do this by going to the
login page on the left hand side of the website. If you did
not confirm your mobile number by replying to the text message
you will not be able to log in to the website. If you did not
receive a text message from us then please fill in the form
here and
we will look into it as soon as possible.
Once you have logged in click the link that says, "Pay
Registration Fee". On this page you can pay by credit card
or laser card. If you wish to pay by cheque, postal order, bank
draft or EFT there is a link on the first paragraph of that
page which will give you details about it.

5. Where do I login?
You can log into your account by going to the login page on
the left hand side of the website or login

6. What is my login password?
If you have lost or forgotten your password there is a link
on the log in page called ' Forgot password?'. Simply click
on this link and follow the instructions to retrieve your password.

7. How do I edit the counties that I am
interested in?
To edit any details on the counties you are interested in just
log into your account and click the link that says, "Edit
Counties/Areas and job values that you wish to receive leads
for". Make any amendments that you require and don't forget
to click submit before you exit to save your changes.

8. How do I edit the trades that I am interested
in?
To edit any details on the trades you are interested in just
log into your account and click the link that says, "Edit
Profile". Scroll down to the section where it says, "My
Tradesmen Categories is/are:".
To select more than one item, hold the CTRL key on your keyboard
while you click on each item. Don't forget to click Save before
you exit to save your changes and check the next page to make
sure that all of the details you entered are all listed correctly.

9. How can I change my personal details?
To edit any personal details such as contact number or address
etc just log into your account and click the link that says,
"Edit Profile". Make any amendments that you require
and don't forget to click submit before you exit to save your
changes

11. I have lost the customers details,
how can I get them again?
If you have lost a customers details and you need to retrieve
them you will find them in an email sent to you when you purchased
the lead. If you still cannot locate their details, simply fill
in the form here
and we will send them to you as soon as possible.

12. I have not been able to quote on a
lead, what can I do?
If you were not able contact the person requesting the quotes
for any reason please log into your account within 24 hours
(within 6-8 hours if possible) and click the link that says
'Leads that I purchased' and then click on the ID number of
the lead you wish to request a refund for and follow the instructions.
We will follow up your complaint with the customer. If we confirm
that you have not been able to contact the person despite making
all reasonable efforts, you will be entitled to a refund of Credits for the lead.
We can normally only refund you for a lead if you contact us within 24
hours of purchasing it. Under certain exceptional circumstances, we can give a refund up to 7 days after the lead was purchased.

13. I need to add money to my account, how
do I do this?
To add money to your account simply login and click on the link
that says, "Top up your account by credit card". You
can pay online by credit card or laser card.
Once you have logged in click the link that says, "Pay
Registration Fee". On this page you can pay by credit card
or laser card. If you wish to pay by cheque, postal order, bank
draft or EFT there is a link on the first paragraph of that
page which will give you details about it. If paying by cheque,
postal order, bank draft or EFT please be sure to attach your
name and ID number with the payment.

14. I am not receiving leads by text anymore,
what should I do?
If you have stopped receiving leads by text message make sure
that you have sufficient Credits on your account, you can do this
by logging in to your account and you will see the number of Credits
at the top of the Welcome page. If you forget how
to top up please read the question above entitled, "I need
to add money to my account, how do I do this?
If you have sufficient Credits in your account but aren't receiving
text message you may have unticked this option in your profile.
To re-enable receiving leads by text message please log into
your account and click on the link that says 'Edit Profile'
and at the bottom of that page you will see a tick box that
says, 'I would like to receive notification of leads by Text
Message'. Make sure that this check box is ticked. There is
a small charge per text message for receiving lead notifications
text message but there is no charge for receiving any other
types of text message. You can see check the fees for lead notifications
and all other fees on our fees

15. How many leads will I get?
The amount of leads that you will receive on a daily basis fluctuates
as it's based on the number of customer quotes requests that
we receive on the website.
If you have suddenly stopped receiving leads please read the
question above entitled, "I am not receiving leads by text
anymore, what should I do?"

16. What if I am not happy?
If you are not happy with the service we offer a 14 day money
back guarantee.
You can try out the service for 14 days and if you are unhappy
we will refund you the Registration Fee plus the value of Credits on your account.
Please note that you are not entitled to a refund if any of the information
provided in your original registration is found to be false or cannot be substantiated.
In addition to this, you are not entitled to a refund if you had previously registered
with us and were suspended from using our service.

19. How do I bid on a lead?
The maximum number of tradesmen who can buy a lead is four.
Sometimes there may only be one or two tradesmen interested
in a lead but if there are four or more tradesmen interested
in a lead over an extended period, it will be sold on a first
come first served basis. In this case bids are not an issue
and you can request a lead simply by texting the lead Id of
the lead you are interested in. If it's a case that there
are more than four tradesmen requesting a lead within the
first fifteen minutes then the lead will go to the four
tradesmen with the highest bids. If the lead is in
high demand, then you will need to include a bid when
texting the lead Id to give you a better chance of securing the lead.
You indicate how much you wish to pay for a lead by texting
the lead ID number followed by a colon (:) followed by
the number of Credits you wish to pay for the lead. For example if
you wish to pay 15 Credits for lead ID 12345, then you text
12345:15 .

20. How do I decide how much to bid on a
lead?
Each service provider will have a different method
for working out how much they wish to bid based on the
approximate value of the job, the location of the job,
what percentage of leads you can convert into a sale and
what your advertising budget is as a percentage of turnover.
For example let's say you normally spend 10% of your turnover
on advertising and you can convert 5% of leads into a
sale. If a lead is offered to you for a job worth €3,000,
you could multiply your advertising percentage of 10%
by your lead conversion percentage of 5% which gives you
a percentage of 0.5%. If a Credit was equal to a euro you could then
multiply the approximate
value of the job by this figure of 0.5% which gives you 15 Credits.
This means based on these figures you could bid 15 Credits
for that lead. We may at our discretion impose a minimum
bid for certain leads to ensure the quality of the bids.
These figures are used for illustration purposes only,
you are the only person who can judge what you wish to
bid for a lead.

with us first check and make sure that the email isn't in the

22. Do you charge for text messages?
Yes there is a charge per lead notification sent by text message
but there is no charge for receiving any other types of text
message. You can choose not to receive lead notifications by
text message by unticking the check box at the bottom of your
profile which says, "I would like to receive leads by Text
Message". Please note that by opting to receive lead notifications
by text it does not guarantee that you will get a chance to
quote for the job. It is only the first 4 tradesmen who reply
to the text message and have enough Credits on their account who
get a chance to quote for the job. You can see check the fees
for lead notifications and all other fees on our fees
policy

23. I want to receive leads by text message
only, how do I do this?
When you register on Tradesmen.ie you will receive lead notifications
to your email for free, to receive lead notifications by text
message you must pay the registration fee and then you will
receive leads by text message and email. If you don't want lead
notifications by email into your inbox the best thing to do
is set up a rule in your email program (Microsoft Outlook or
whatever you use) that filters all of the emails with the subject
beginning with the word, 'LeadId' into a different folder.

as all correspondence from Tradesmen.ie is via email which includes
any offers and promotions as well as important changes to the
service and terms and conditions.

25. How do Credits work?
Credits are units of value
that are purchased in advance and used for buying
leads, sms notifications and other services. We are planning to introduce the new Credits
system at the end of 2021. Until the Credits system is implemented, everything will continue to work as normal.
When the new system is implemented, the leads will be priced in Credits rather than euros and if you have an existing credit balance, it will be
automatically converted to Credits. Then you can use those credits to purchase leads and when
you text in a lead, you can do so in the same format as before by just texting the lead id on it's own e.g. 123456
or by texting the lead Id, a colon and the number of Credits you wish to bid on the lead e.g. 1234567:10
If your credit balance hasn't been converted to Credits and you are waiting to buy leads, you
could try bidding on a lead and it should automatically convert your existing credit balance before the lead
is sold to you. This should happen within an hour or two of bidding for the lead.
If that doesn't work, please contact us here and
we will look into it asap. You can also log in and top up your account to purchase Credits and any
existing credit balance that you have will be automatically converted to Credits later
if it hasn't been converted already.
